Team Size

Our team has grown! Yay! We are over 32 divers, which is the number NVSL will allow us to dive in a meet. As a result, we must know whether your diver can dive in a given meet the Sunday before the meet on Tuesday. If you already know you’ll be out of town for a meet, please declare “not attending” for that meet. I have opened all of the Tuesday meets for the rest of the season, so if you’d like to take a moment to tell us your diver’s status, that would be helpful.

Tuesday, July 7 Meet information

Tuesday, July 7th’s meet is at Parklawn (6011 Crater Pl, Alexandria, Va 22312). Please declare your divers by Sunday!

We will take the boards at 5 pm for warmups. Please have your diver on deck by 4:45. If your diver needs a ride, let us know so we have enough space in the vehicles (Paula’s text number is 706-296-3903). We will meet in our pool parking lot at 3:50 for anyone wanting to carpool. We will take the HOV lanes.

Thursday July 9 Meet Information

We will host Oakton on July 9th for a B meet. This meet is for divers who are new to dive this year, may not have a complete dive list for their age, have lots of competition in their age category, or may be struggling with a specific dive. If you are unsure if your diver should dive, please ask! We will be dividing our freshmen divers into two groups: 8 and under, and 9 & 10. Our Juniors and Intermediates will do 4 dives, with a front jump counting as a dive. We will also allow coach assist dives with a max score of 2.

We will begin warmups at 4:45. Oakton will take the boards at 5:15 pm and 8 and unders will take a bounce at 5:45. As for every home meet, we need lots of volunteers. This is a great opportunity for non participating divers to help with the table or diner! Look at the jobs that need to be filled when you declare your diver.

Wally Martin 3 Meter Event- July 12

Every year the NVSL sponsors a 3 meter dive event, held at Oakmont Rec Center. This is a fun meet. If your child has experience on a 3 meter board and would like to compete, declare their status in Swimtopia by July 5th. This event will cost $8 and will be paid on divemeets.com. Do not sign up on divemeets until we see how many might like to attend. We will make a decision about attending this meet based on Swimtopia signups. If you know your child would like to try it, declare them on Swimtopia asap! I’ll send a separate email to interested parties about how to sign up in divemeets. Our designated practice time for this meet is Friday, July 10th from 7-8 pm at Oakmont.
