Week of June 15-21

Dear dive parents,

If you attended our B meet last night, thank you! The kids looked like they had a great time and we have a lot more kids prepared for our first A meet next week! I want to give a special shoutout to some of our more experienced divers who also participated last night. They took a risk on brand new, hard dives. I'm so, so proud of the courage I saw in them!

Looking ahead, we have a busy few days. Sunday, June 15th (yes, Father's Day!) we will be hosting a Dolphin Diner right after Rafternoon. We need grillers and diner workers, as well as baked goods or cut watermelon to sell. It's not on the signup, but I would also like to add candy. Our candy sold so fast last night! If you haven't brought in a start up contribution, please consider bringing boxes of non-chocolate, individually wrapped candy. The sign up for the Rafternoon Dolphin Diner is open.

Our first A meet is Tuesday, June 17th at home. For home meets, we ask that divers arrive by 3:45 so that we can be on the boards by 4 pm for warmups. RSVPs are open. Please indicate if your diver can attend, and help us by signing up for jobs as well.

If you are new, A meet rules are a little different. In order to dive our A meet, your diver must have a front dive, a back dive without coach assistance, and their required number of optionals according to age. In an A meet, only 10 and unders (freshmen) can use a pencil dive (a jump) as an optional. I watched 3 kids get a new dive *after* our meet last night, so know that it can happen very quickly. If they don't have it today, they might by Tuesday. If you are unsure about whether your diver will be eligible to dive this week, please talk to me!

Lastly, if you think you might want to judge this season, our last NVSL judge training is on Thursday, June 19th from 6:30-8 at Sleepy Hollow Bath and Racquet.

Thank you for all you've done so far, and we are just getting started. :)
