Senior Recognition

I did want to send a special email honoring our Seniors. We have tried hard to build a culture on this dive team that is inviting to both the young and to the more experienced divers. If you have been coming to the meets, you have seen many dive teams don’t have a Senior Boy or Girl Diver! We were blessed to have 7 Senior Boy divers and 4 Senior Girl divers this year. All credit goes to the divers like Hannah Quick, Matthew Bray and Luke Portofe. Their presence shows the younger divers that they value this team with their most valuable asset, their time.

For those who weren’t there last night please take time to read the bio’s of our two Senior Divers!

Hannah Quick

Hannah experienced dive initially through watching her sister. She did not take her first official bounce as a Dolphin until 2021. She is happy she got off the bench and onto the board! Hannah has really enjoyed her 3 seasons with the Greenbriar Dive team! Her fun summers diving eventually led her to dive at Chantilly High School during her junior and senior year.

Matthew Bray -

Matthew has been diving for Greenbriar since he was 6 years old and has been a coach for over 4 years. Matthew has broken every boy’s dive record for Greenbriar pool while winning NVSL championships at both Wally Martin and All-Star’s. Matthew dove for the Chantilly Chargers for four years setting the school record score while winning 3 consecutive state championships. He is also a member of Alexandria Dive Club and has competed in numerous US Diving events. He will dive for the University of Georgia in the fall. He loves working with the divers at Greenbriar by teaching them new skills and inspiring them to enjoy the sport.

Thank you Hannah and Matthew! Best of Luck in college and all your future endeavors!
