The 2023 season starts in less than 48 hours
Hi Everyone,
I hope you are all very excited for the upcoming season. The coaches have been making preparations for some engaging and interesting practices but I know what they really want to be doing is helping our team learn and improve their dive skills. Hopefully, the weather will warm some by Tuesday night or else it might look a little like the polar bear plunge.
If the temperature is tepid, I suggest bringing multiple towels. Additionally, dive is supposed to be fun. If you see your diver becoming overly cold, there is nothing wrong with leaving practice early. We all want practices to be positive experiences.
Hopefully, you have seen where practices start at 6:15 on weekdays when school is in session. Practice will end at 8pm. Obviously, the more you practice something, the more you will improve. We also know there are a great deal of activities coming up. Graduations, concerts, etc. if your family is busy and can’t make dive one night or two, that is fine. No need to inform anyone, no one is keeping count. If you are going to be gone all week, we would appreciate a quick note so we know not to expect you that week.
I am sure the coaches will have a few opening comments tomorrow for the team. We will be having a parent meeting but not Tuesday night. I will be there for the opening practice and I will be happy to answer any questions you might have.
As far as swim suits, feel free to come in any bathing suit you wish. We do have a team suit that is not mandatory but we will let you know what and where to purchase it, in the event your diver is in need of a new one.
Dive is a fun sport meant to be enjoyed so try and not stress and please tell your diver not to stress either. If they listen to our coaching staff and make a few friends on the team, the rest will take care of itself.
Joel
