A lot to like this week

This week isn’t over yet but there is so much to love about it. First, we honored our Seniors (Alyse Madsen and Luke Portofe). It will be sad to see them age out but it was such a pleasure to have them. We hope they will return to the program in some way in the future.

2nd our divers dove well Tuesday night earning us the victory 41-31. This gave us a 3-1-1 record for the year. We finished tied for 2nd in our first year at Division 5. We  literally lost the Division by 2 points. Our lone loss was by 1 point to eventual winners Fairfax Station and our tie with Cardinal Hill. Oh well, we will likely stay in Division 5 next season but they could possibly move us to Division 4.

3rd Greenbriar held our first dive “B” meet. Our dive team, historically had been a little small (in the 20’s) so we never needed a “B”  meet. A couple of years ago, dove started growing in numbers, mostly thanks to some amazing divers that made it more “cool” to be part of the team and tremendous coaching that was passionate about its growth. The need for a “B” meet is a sign of a healthy program that is expanding dive to those who would otherwise not ever obtain the skill in the proper way.

4th it is fun to see our divers serve in different capacities. Our divers were table workers, Dolphin Diner attendants, we even had Uber eats  Dolphin Diner last night with Josh going from chair to chair offering delivery service!

So much to love and be proud. Thanks to the divers, coaches and volunteers that made this all possible!
