Dolphins beat Tigers 47-24

Hi All,

Greenbriar Dive had a wonderful meet Tuesday night. We cruised to a easy victory 47-24, This was thanks to improved diving from last week and the return of some divers who were out. We still haven’t put our best team out there yet as we 11 absences this week (13 the week before). I am hopeful we will be back to full strength in the near future.

Every diver has a great story to tell but it would make the email too long so I will share just a few. One of my personal favs is Hannah Snyder. She worked all last season to get a back dive, finally succeeding right before the crackerjack meet. This week she competed in her first “A” meet. She was able to place 4th! I love to see the divers who must work for it and do! Meghan Henderson had a great meet. Meghan, a gymnast by trade, had never competed in a dive meet. Her age requirements are 6 dives including an inward. Meghan had zero confidence in her inward as warmups started. (The plan was for her to just fail the inward but get experience in her other dives and compete in her first meet. She then hit the inward in both warmups and the competition allowing her to have an amazing first meet. Lastly, I want to call out Michael Bray! Michael failed a dive. He lost concentration after a delay in scoring and didn’t execute the dive. He could have packed it in and sulked the rest of the meet but he didn’t. He kept doing his best and by the end of the meet, he earned 3rd place in his age group!

We had a number of divers earn points this week including!

1st place winners: Leighton Raich, Olivia Pietras, Evie Kehoe, Mason Waterfield & Matthew Bray

2nd place winners: Brielyn Niedzialek, Blake Allen, Simone Feil, Kendall Arnz, Luke Jones, Paxton Martinez

3rd place winners: Ingrid Lander, Rowan Threadgill, Alyse Madsen, Michael Bray

Lastly, we did have a pool record set! Matthew Bray scored an amazing 313.85 in six dives to break Samson Miller’s record of 297.95 from 2016.

After the meet we had a great time at McDonald’s. (Pictures attached) please join us on social media.
