Hi All,

I wanted send a quick email about perspective. The Greenbriar Dive team has multiple goals. One is to teach the children of Greenbriar some basic dives (front, back and flip). This gives the kids confidence and experience to properly use the diving bell of this pool or others they may visit in the future. 

Additionally, the pool belongs to the NVSL league to allow a swim and dive league between pools. This allows those who are more competitive or experienced to compete against kids the same age in other pools.
Lastly, these teams allow the kids of the pool to get to know each other and build friendships. 
All these goals are important and I believe are equally worked on. I say this because I will be sending emails out about the meet last night and the meets in the future. I do this because it’s good to celebrate our successes but that does not diminish our other goals.
It is super important that all 53 divers can do a flip by the end of the season, it is also super important that we have connected more kids with each other so they have more friends in the neighborhood and in school. These can be a bit harder to spot so it does make them a little more difficult to celebrate but we are want to celebrate them. 

Please send me your pictures or film of your child getting their first back dive or first front flip. We will celebrate them. Likewise, if we have super tight friendships developing, we will celebrate them too. 
I just want everyone to have perspective that the meets are important, we have lots of athletes working hard to make our team successful from a competitive dive perspective but that’s not the only important thing are coaches and volunteers are working on and we will celebrate them too.
We will have some group activities coming up soon to help support team unity. Please participate and support these activities.
